It’s now two weeks down the road as Gulu University goes into a water Crisis, reports indicate that some parts of the Laro division in Gulu City have completely run out of water.
Several students living in hostels like Florida, that are experiencing water scarcity have now resorted to walking long distances to get the water.
The Prime Minister of the university Nelson Balaza cited that the issue surrounding water scarcity in the area has largely affected the students financially with water prices being hiked.
“This problem of water shortage has affected students because now, most of the students move long distances to get the water and currently, a jerrycan of water is at 600 shillings,” Balaza said.
Balaza requested the University to work together with the National Water and Sewerage Corporation to the issue sorted out as soon as possible for the students to be relieved from the tension and high prices that have been caused by the ongoing situation.
