The United media consultants and Trainers (UMCAT) school of Journalism held its third annual cultural Gala at the Bukesa, Kampala campus which was themed “My culture, my pride.”

With participants grouped under international media houses such CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera, they were expected to showcase their different talents in news anchoring, television presenting, modelling, emceeing, cultural dances and cultural mimes.

The Gala was graced by veteran journalist Tonny Owanna who commended participants for their tireless efforts at the event.

“The participants have shown a great load of effort in the work they have showcased today and thus I commend you all for the tireless efforts that you put in making the work you exhibited happen.” Mr. Owanna said.

One of the participants performs an act in a play.

UMCAT Director Mr. Charles Ogwel exhibited his joy towards the unforgettable performances by the different teams and at the same time, congratulating the winning Team CNN.

“I congratulate the overall winning team CNN, for the great exhibition of talent and I encourage other students to keep taking part in events of this nature in order to boost their inner talent.” Mr. Ogwel said.
