The law society at Kampala international university held a debate last week which was aimed at letting the aspiring candidates give their manifestos to the students.
The event was held at the KIU main campus in Kasanga where different candidates aspiring for different posts like speaker, vice president among others where present.
It started with a speech from the former president of the law society Alinda Raymon who described the election as the most competitive ever.
“This is the most competitive election ever in the law faculty and therefore urge all of you not to be intimidated by anyone.” Said Alinda
Mr.Kaddu an aspirant of the presidential post while speaking thanked the students for the great love and support they have showed to him.
Kaddu stated that “If I wasn’t a man, I would cry right now. Thank you all for the overwhelming support that you have showed me, am really grateful.”
While addressing the students, Mr Mwahuzi Calvin also an aspirant of the presidential post called for unity and togetherness among the students of the law Faculty.
“I greatly call for unity and togetherness in the law Faculty as my manifesto is student and society based. I also call for the need to expose the knowledge of law to the different clubs at the university.” Calvin cited
The presidential aspirants were then asked academic questions by the judges of the debate to taste their intelligence in that field.
The best was wished to all the candidates present, students were also urged to engage in the voting the next day and this marked the end of the debate.
