At the main campus in Kampala, Kampala International University celebrated its 28th graduation ceremony by conferring degrees upon 1862 graduates. Notably, 53.5% were females, and 46.5% were males. Among the graduates, 50.9% hailed from science disciplines, while 49.1% pursued other programs.
During the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the challenges students face in paying tuition, urging the government of Uganda to reinstate the student loan scheme. He stated, “We appeal to the government to reinstate the student loan scheme, recognizing the significant hardships students endure to access the quality education provided at KIU.”
Commending the Ministry of Science and Technology for their consistent efforts, the Vice Chancellor applauded their facilitation of the National Science Week in Uganda for the past two years. KIU actively participated in the 2023 exhibitions, showcasing selected innovations.
Outstanding students achieving first-class degrees were awarded fully sponsored scholarships for their master’s studies.
